OEG, Inc.
Senior VP, Business Operations; VP, Live Entertainment & Events
The Opportunity
OEG, Inc., the parent company of the Edmonton Oilers, engaged Prodigy Search during a period of significant growth to fill two critical leadership roles: Senior Vice President, Business Operations and Vice President, Live Entertainment & Events. As the organization continued to evolve into a premier integrated sports, entertainment, and mixed-use real estate platform, both roles were essential to advancing the long-term vision of the ICE District and Rogers Place. The SVP, Business Operations role was a newly created position, serving as a strategic partner to the President & COO with oversight across district operations, shared facilities, vendor partnerships, infrastructure, and key development initiatives. The role required a leader capable of driving cross-functional coordination across a complex, multi-asset campus while balancing day-to-day execution with long-term growth. The Vice President, Live Entertainment & Events role focused on maximizing programming and revenue across Rogers Place and the broader district, including event acquisition, promoter and artist relationships, and strategies to elevate the district’s positioning on a national and global stage. Together, the searches required distinct leadership profiles and a targeted approach to attract top talent to Edmonton while ensuring alignment with a high-performance, team-first culture.
The Prodigy Approach
Prodigy Search executed two targeted searches, leveraging its network across professional sports, venue operations, mixed-use development, and live entertainment. For the SVP, Business Operations role, the focus centered on executives with experience leading large-scale redevelopment projects and multi-use districts, combined with operational leadership in high-traffic, complex environments. Candidates were evaluated on their ability to integrate asset management, campus operations, and long-term strategic planning. For the Vice President, Live Entertainment & Events role, the search prioritized leaders with strong promoter relationships, event acquisition expertise, and a track record of driving revenue through innovative programming. Candidates were assessed on both the strength of their industry networks and their ability to elevate venue positioning. The searches were executed in parallel, requiring tailored strategies for two distinct talent markets while maintaining close alignment with executive leadership throughout the process.
The Outcome
Two critical leadership searches were successfully completed, appointing Senior Vice President, Business Operations and Vice President, Live Entertainment & Events to strengthen both operational leadership and programming strategy across ICE District. Each search delivered a specialized leader aligned to the organization’s needs—one focused on large-scale operations, infrastructure, and long-term development, and the other on event programming, promoter relationships, and revenue growth. Executed during a period of organizational growth and active operations, the searches required a cross-border approach and close coordination with executive leadership, resulting in complementary hires that reinforce both asset performance and market positioning. Together, these placements position OEG to drive continued growth across ICE District, maximize asset value, and elevate Rogers Place as a premier destination for live entertainment.
