David Zimmerman

Board Member

David Zimmerman is the Director of Logistics for the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games in Orlando, Florida. He is responsible for providing transportation, lodging, food & beverage and other logistics requirements for all Special Olympics athletes and coaches with the intent of providing them with a world-class experience during the duration of the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games.

Zimmerman recently graduated from the DeVos Sport Business Management program at UCF where he was a Graduate Assistant for Dr. Richard Lapchick. He is now the Editor-in-Chief and responsible for the operations of The Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport (TIDES). The Institute researches and publishes a variety of studies, including annual studies of student-athlete graduation rates and racial attitudes in sports, as well as the internationally recognized Racial and Gender Report Card, an assessment of hiring practices in coaching and sport management in professional and college sport.

Zimmerman served in the Air Force for 24 years as a Contracting Officer.
